Black Models Meet 2021

Black Models Meet 2021 was our inaugural event, held on August 29, 2021, at McCarren Park in Brooklyn, New York. The event was produced in partnership with The Principle Thing, a Black-owned mother agency based in New York, and Models for Change Now, a Black-led collective dedicated to amplifying models’ stories and advocating for industry reform.

The purpose of Black Models Meet was to create a safe and supportive space for Black models living in New York City to connect, decompress, and engage in meaningful conversations about their careers and the future of the fashion industry. Through community, open dialogue, and shared experiences, the event aimed to foster unity and inspire collective action toward lasting change within the industry.
